I'd like to say a
big "Hello!" to you regular
subscribers of ProsperityUnleashed! and extend
a Super Special "Welcome to
the Group!" to all of you who are new subscribers
as well!
It's hard to believe that October has already come and gone
and that it's time for another edition of this Newsletter.
In the spirit of Thanksgiving (which is coming upon us quickly
here in the States) I have made the subject of being
thankful the focus of the "Prosper-verb" and
my usual article.
In this edition you'll also find a guest article from a fellow
marketer and Newsletter writer, Xavier Nelson. I recently
subscribed to his publication as a result of a recent
Giveaway promotion. I was very impressed with his writing
style and when I first saw his article about Private
Label products, I just had to get permission to include
it for you to read.
At first I nearly settled for just a reprint--but then I recalled
a little technique known as "article swapping."
So, I asked Xavier to to check out the Archives and
choose an article of mine that he would like to reprint
in exchange for permission to publish his Private Label
article here. (Wouldn't you know it? He chose the one
I wrote about "Titanic" in the October issue!)
I hope you didn't miss what just took place; this is just one
of many examples of what my own "Info-Strategies"
are all about: creating a win/win situation for little
or no cost. You
can do the same thing with articles, ads, bonus items
. . .
There's also a couple of great no-cost resources that I've
listed for you in the Tips section.
Don't
forget there's the subscribers only "tools you
can use" membership
site. (The username is prosper
and the password is success.) And if
you ever want to check out my newsletter's back issues,
you can find them here.
Before
I go, I'd like to remind you that I'm always open to
your feedback including any questions, ideas or suggestions
you may have about
ProsperityUnleashed! Just Click
Here! and I'll be happy to respond.
Finally,

With
that said, it's time to dive into the latest issue!

"The Attitude of Gratitude: Etiquette
For Success"
By:
Stephen Boutelle © 2005
It
was almost a comical site. He was standing there trying
to hold the door open as a lady, obviously a person
of wealth, stepped out of her limousine. He couldn't
have weighed more than one hundred pounds soaking wet,
but there he stood, valiantly struggling to be a gentleman.
The wind almost took the door handle out of his hands
twice, but still he managed to brace himself. He was
trying to catch his breath as she passed by, waiting
in anticipation for those two simple little words that
never came: "Thank you."
Now
before you get too upset about "that rich lady"
not even recognizing the man's efforts on her behalf,
the same thing could have happened if the lady wasn't
excessively wealthy; in fact, you've probably witnessed
(or experienced) a similar situation yourself. Most
of us often think that we're too busy to take a moment
to show our gratitude. Yes, I'm including myself in
there too.
My
wife and I are trying to teach our two small children
to "use their manners" which also includes
saying "Please" and "Thank You."
As I thought about this in connection with Thanksgiving,
I began wondering about how this might apply to Online
Marketing.
Let's
be honest: when was the last time you or I took a few
minutes to express a word or two of appreciation and
gratitude to the people who, both directly and indirectly,
have contributed to the level of success that we now
enjoy?
And
just how would you go about expressing your gratitude
to these folks? Glad you asked.
For
starters, let's consider the people who have served
as your mentors. Their influence and teaching have been
instrumental in your life and business decisions, no
doubt. With that in mind, you might consider taking
time to outline specific ways their advice has impacted
your life and business. Then once you've done this,
include it in a written letter of thanks to each of
your mentors.
Next
on the list are your JV partners and/or "Super
Affiliates." These people are a crucial part of
your continuing success. Their cooperation and efforts
have helped to propel your products and business to
a new level. How might you thank them? Perhaps you could
spend some time making a phone call to each of them,
thanking them for their willingness to support and promote
you and your business. Better yet, if these are long
-term relationships, you might find out a couple of
their favorite things, and send one of these to them-unexpectedly,
of course-along with a personal Thank You letter.
The
next group would be your customers- people who actually
'bit the bullet' and bought at least one of your products.
They too, are an integral part of your business. How to
thank them? How about a free upgrade for the product they
purchased, or maybe a discount on a future purchase .
. . Again, a 'subtle survey' would help determine what
would work best for your customers.
Let's
see . . . we can't forget your affiliates either. This
'army', regardless of size, often serves as the 'bread
and butter' of many businesses. To thank them, you might
consider doing a survey that asks them what they want
or need: maybe an upgrade of some sort or perhaps a
particular bonus item.
And
of course we cannot forget the many people who comprise
your subscriber lists, whether great or small. They
continue to allow you to send your publication, information
and updates to them . . . (Why some of them have even
chosen to overlook your email bloopers and stay on the
list!) One of the easiest ways to express thanks to
them is by simply taking the time to say so in your
newsletter. Along with that you might include a free
download or bonus item that you know your audience would
appreciate. Perhaps it might be a free ad or a discount
for your product or service.
Of
course you might want to "grab the bull by the
horns" and do the next best thing to taking out
a full page ad in your local newspaper to express your
thanks . . .
What
do I mean? How about creating a web page/blog/ or section
of your blog that is your "Thank You Page."
No, I don't mean one for your product. This would be
your special "Expression of Thanks" where
you would put in writing just how much those who have
contributed to your success mean to you. You wouldn't
necessarily have to mention names (your JV partners,
affiliates and subscribers know to whom you're referring).
You might even consider putting this in PDF form for
each of these respective groups and then sending it
to them .
Who
knows what might happen if just a few people took the
time to do something like this--with no strings attached?
Everything we do shouldn't be based upon "WIIFM";
didn't the Lord Jesus Christ say that it's better to
give than receive?
And
in the extremely competitive world of online marketing,
what better way to differentiate yourself than by letting
those who have contributed to your success know how
much you appreciate them by sending them a genuine and
unexpected "Thank You" that 'fits them to
a tee?'

Making
The Most of Public Domain and Private Label Content
by
Xavier Nelson
There's
so much public domain content available all over the
internet, with Master Resale Rights available and sites
springing up left and right with Private Label articles
you can use to create your own products, but what do
you need to bear in mind, what is the best way to use
all this content and what can you create with it?
What
to Look Out For:
Copyright
- you absolutely must check on this - violating someone's
copyright is not clever and can be a really expensive
mistake not to mention seriously damaging your reputation.
Is it really public domain? All those lawyers’ fees
can really mount up when checking into all this but
believe me, you really don't want to end up in court
over it.
Public
Domain Content - If you have the money to have a lawyer
look at copyright for you then fine, go ahead and get
started.
Where
can you find this type of content? It can be difficult
to find content that is free to use but here are a few
links to get you started:
http://www.gutenberg.org/
http://www.wikimedia.org/
http://www.gpoaccess.gov/index.html
>Master
Resale Rights - If you can't afford expensive lawyers
what else can you do? One rather less pricey way is
to buy Master Resale Rights to a product - this gives
you the opportunity to name yourself as the author;
use the content in another product, rewrite the whole
thing - the possibilities are endless. Just be aware
with this that you will need to look at the terms and
conditions of what you are allowed to do with the product
before you buy.
On
a budget? - not to worry, there are still many ways
you can find great content without spending a fortune
or worrying about whether you can legally use it. Sites
such as
http://www.businessinformationconnection.com/info/content
and
http://www.businessinformationconnection.com/info/nsp
provide
guaranteed public domain or private label content for
a monthly fee. You could also sign up to some of the
well known internet marketers' newsletters. Why? Well
if you're serious about internet marketing you should
be checking out all the latest happenings anyway, but
a lot of newsletter owners will have free ebooks, giveaways
and articles to download - some of which you will be
able to use as your own.
So
you've got your content ready to go and you've checked
your rights and permissions but there is one more thing
to think about:
-
Sites such as http://www.copyscape.com
can check for duplicate content on the internet and
of course so can the search engines. This could mean
anything from the search engines deciding they won't
rate your site as highly because the exact same content
is available elsewhere to some smarty pants asking you
if you really did write that incredibly good article
because they've seen someone else claiming that they
wrote it too, so you do need to be aware of this when
looking to use content you haven't personally created,
but that doesn't mean you shouldn't go ahead and make
the most of all that wonderful information.
What
Can You Do?
You
could just read the information to learn from it yourself;
you could read it to get ideas for businesses, more
articles, content, the list is limited only by your
imagination.

When
it comes to using all the content you have gathered,
you need to look through it all and decide what you
want to produce.
If
you plan to use content from more than one source, such
as 2 or 3 articles by different authors to be combined
into a report, you will need to go through and change
the content into a similar style, check that it is all
written in the same tense, make sure the formatting
is the same throughout, check for spelling and grammar
(for example - spelling for some words is different
in the US than the UK) and look through all the articles
to see if any of the points made are duplicated.
Once
you've done this, make a list of points you want to
make in your report, read the articles through again
and start combining them together to fit what you want
to say - cut and paste to copy sections into the right
place.
Next,
look at the way your draft reads now and see if it fits
your style of writing, your personality and your business.
Reword
it to fit with this - there's no point in producing
a very formally written, stiff sounding report for a
hobby site.
At
this point you could just tweak it, proof read it, and
then go ahead and publish it but to take it a step further
and make it really unique, why not look at how you might
rewrite it so that all of the content is yours - now
you've got the basic idea down and laid out, it shouldn't
take you long to reword things, add in some of your
own ideas and keywords that fit your site, and maybe
a few quotes and suddenly you're looking at something
that no-one else has got, that the search engines will
love and that no-one can claim you copied.
Time
to start creating!

to your success,
Xavier
