It's
hard to believe that Spring is here and that Easter
is already past! No doubt you've been hearing alot
about new products as well as a slew of insane 'bargain-basement'
package deals that are here "For a Limited
Time Only!" As I've said in the "Legalese"
section of my newsletter: "Always
do your own research and due diligence before responding
to any offer- online or offline."
After
all, only you know if the offer
is truly right for you -- and whether or not you'll
actually use
the 'goodies' once you've
taken the plunge and purchased that "gotta-have-it
Ultimate Package." No
doubt there have been and will continue to be packages,
'Deals' and offers that really are "worth their
weight in gold." But the bottom line from my
point of view is simply this: Don't get caught up
in "the herd mentality." Why? Because
herds can be driven or stampeded!
Listen,
do you want to make up your own mind about a product
or service you're considering purchasing, or do
you want to leave that decision to "the herd"?
(Remember, lemmings also form a kind of herd - one
that leads them to plunge headlong off from a cliff
to a watery grave!) Just as with the stock market,
many times "the herd" can be wrong.
ProsperityUnleashed!
will not attempt to goad you into "the herd"
mentality. The products and services presented here
and in your e-mailbox are not for everyone . . .
They are offered for your perusal and consideration.
If they'll help you with what you're doing, great!
Otherwise, simply make a note of it for possible
future reference for yourself or a friend and move
on. (I'm stepping off the soapbox now.)
This
past month I have been very busy with a new Joint
Venture site in cooperation with over one hundred
other co-JV partners. Although the site is now almost
two weeks old, it has already been a phenomenal
success- including a rank in the 17,000 range of
Alexa. I've also been involved in the launch of
a brand new product- more on that in your e-mailbox
soon!

The
Online Beauty Pageant

It
happens every year, and is one of the most attended
events during “Fair Week” at many County
Fairs, especially in the American South. What am
I referring to? The annual contest that determines
just which of the many teen-aged young ladies from
across the County will become “Miss Fairest
of the Fair.”
One
of the many duties as a staff member at our local
Christian radio station is to cover the events at
the Fentress County Fair. Beginning in 1993, I’ve
had the opportunity to cover nearly every “Fairest
of the Fair” pageant since then, and over
time have come to better understand just what it
is that the judges are looking for in selecting
each year’s pageant winner.
Well
believe it or not, this same process occurs “in
miniature” when people visit our Webpages.
No, they aren't looking for beauty, poise or a perfect
turn, but what they are seeking must be
available almost instantaneously, or else
your site will never get past the “first round”
of what I’d like to call the “Online
Beauty Pageant.”
First
of all, instead of taking an hour or more to determine
the end result, this online “contest”
is over in about . . . three
seconds! Think about it: how long do
you usually take to decide whether or not to linger
at a website that you’ve never been to before?
My guess is that your time frame will be quite similar:
a whopping three to five seconds before you hit
the “Back” button, right? (Yes that’s
me too: guilty as charged.)
Next,
we need to consider just what it is that “the
typical visitor” (if there is such a person!),
who serves as the ‘Judge’ in this "Online
Pageant," has in mind when they come to our
Webpages. At this point I’m sure you’re
thinking, “That’s easy: they’re
looking for the keywords they used to find the site!”
Well let’s see how easy it really
is . . .
Let
me ask you this: “What’s the most important
part of your Web page?” You only get three
seconds to answer because that’s the same
average time limit a visitor uses in deciding whether
to stay or “click away.” Time’s
up! Want to know the answer? Well, according to
what professional online marketers like Armand Morin,
Ted Ciuba and Michel Fortin not only teach at live
events but also practice, the most important section
of your webpage is the Top Third.
Don’t
believe me? Until recently, where did most marketers
put their header graphic for their product, site
or service? You guessed it – in the Top Third
of their webpage. (Top marketers are no longer using
header graphics.) Or where do most website headlines
appear? Surprise – in the Top Third! And finally,
where do most savvy marketers put their sign-up
form for their newsletter, Tip Sheet, free Report
or E-Course? Look at the Top Third – just
like Ragu, “it’s in there.”
Okay,
okay . . . so you’re dying to know why
this portion of your page is so crucial to winning
the “Online Beauty Pageant.” The answer,
“My dear Watson, is elemetary!” It’s
because it is the first thing the visitor sees
when your page opens! And if they don’t
find what they want – or don’t like
what they find – upon seeing the Top Third
of your webpage, then they are history – bolting
for the door, never to return!
If
your webpage manages to pass the first test, then
you’ve made it to the Second Round, the “Semi-finals.”
But you’re not home free just yet; the ‘Judge’
has some additional qualifications in mind that
your site must meet to get his or her coveted “Seal
of Approval.”
Does
he or she have to wait up to fifteen seconds for
your page to load before they can read the first
word? Gong! Game Over; you’ve lost another
visitor. (How long are you willing to wait
for a site to load before “clicking away”?)
Here’s
the next hurdle: How long does it take for them
to figure out what your page is about, and whether
or not it’s for them? Dr.
Ken Evoy, author of Make Your
Site Sell 2002, coined the term Most Wanted
Response (MWR). Simply put: what
is it that you want your visitor to do? Allen Says,
founder of the famous Warrior Forum,
teaches that your site should be a direct response
site that gives them three options at the most:
buy/sign-up, bookmark or leave.
With
this information in mind, what do you think would
be the best and quickest way for your visitor to
find the answer to the ever-present question: “What’s
In It (your site/product) For Me?”
The answer: a well-written, benefit-laden, headline
that consists of your site’s keywords –
located in the Top Third of the page!
Take
a look at the pages of Top Shelf Marketers who regularly
pull down six and seven figures from their online
business, and that’s exactly what you’ll
find! Don’t re-invent the wheel; find out
what’s already been proven to work and model
it! This same technique is used offline as well;
just take a look at your “junk mail”,
a magazine advertisement or newspaper ad . . .
If
your visitor is still at your webpage, then you’ve
made it to the Final Round. This is where the ‘Judge’
will determine whether or not your page meets the
final qualifications and gets their "Stamp
of Approval" – when they take action
either by ordering or signing up. Most of the criteria
at this stage have to do with Design: is the page
appealing in its layout and is the form pleasing
to the eye? These three items will ‘make or
break’ your chances of winning "The Contest":
-Graphics: Do they take long to load? Do
they compliment the web copy?
-Images: (or text) that flash/blink/rotate
. . . these only serve to distract (or even annoy)
them: keep them focused on your copy to get them
to the MWR.
-Fonts: Serif for your headlines and Sans
Serif for text. Are you using a standard font family,
and how many different fonts are on your page?
And
last but not least there is the dreaded “advertising.”
If your page is a direct response page, there shouldn't
be any advertising to distract from or disrupt the
reading of the copy. If it is not, then the ads
should be considered in the same class as an image:
they should compliment or be relevant to the copy,
small, not obnoxious in appearance and few in
number.
Now
if your page has met these qualifications, and the
copy (benefits, offer, guarantee, etc.) are targeted
to what the visitor is looking for, then more often
than not they will give you their "Stamp of
Approval" by granting you that Most Wanted
Response. And when that happens, your site
has just become another winner in the “Online
Beauty Pageant”!

Profit Secrets and Viral Marketing"

Once
you truly understand the power of backend profits,
you'll explode your marketing results and create
an
unstoppable viral machine.
The
techniques I will reveal to you have often been
taught
in many marketing courses and articles...but they
are still
underutilized because of two words - "tunnel
vision."
Backend
profits means the additional income that you earn
from a customer. The first purchase from a customer
is the
front end profits while the second purchase and
so forth
will be your backend.
The
really good marketers understand that the most money
will be made on the backend.
Here
are a couple reasons why:
You
can charge higher prices for backend products because
you've already built a relationship with your customer.
They
already know the quality of your product and of
your
customer service. You no longer have to convince
them that
you're credible and that your information is good.
You
only have to convince them that your backend product
is
higher quality than your front end product and that
they
NEED the backend product.
Trust
is one of the single most important components of
selling. You can earn that trust by providing a
good
front end product.
Most
marketers do not truly understand the power of the
backend and that's a fact.
I
know because I see very few affiliate programs which
pay
higher than 50% commission.
Think
about this for a minute.
Let's
say you sell your product for $50 and you give 50%
commission. You have 5 affiliates who each make
10 sales
each.
You
pocket $1,250 after paying commissions. You now
have 50
customers. Five of them end up purchasing your $100
backend
product for a profit of $500. Total profits is $1,750
for
you.
Now
let's consider giving away 75% commission to your
affiliates.
By
giving away higher commissions, you get 10 affiliates
instead of the 5. Ten affiliates making 10 sales
each at
$50 will make you $1,250 - which is the same front
end
profits as before.
Now
you have 100 customers and make 10 backend sales
for
$1,000 profit.
So
how did you end up making more when you increased
your
affiliate commissions by 25 percent? You made it
on the
backend.
Here's
what is happening behind the curtain as you increase
your commissions.
You
gain more affiliates and subscribers as those
affiliates send you more traffic to your site.
Those
affiliates are happier with their higher paycheck
because you gave them higher commissions. Therefore,
they
will continue to send traffic to your site.
This
cycle increases your traffic over time as you gain
more customers, more affiliates and more subscribers.
It's
the ultimate viral marketing machine!
More
subscribers equal more profits. More customers equals
more profits. More affiliates equals more profits.
So
is all that worth a hit on your front end profits?
Yes!
The
problem most people have is they can't stand to
see
their affiliates making more than them. Tunnel vision
keeps
them from seeing all the extra subscribers, customers
and
affiliates which could be theirs.
Please
remember one thing about running your affiliate
program.
A
75% reduction in profits is better than a 100% reduction,
which is the case if the affiliate had not made
ANY sale.
In
summary, you should create an affiliate program
for your
front end product which gives away a majority of
the
profits.
You
should also spend your time creating multiple backend
products.
