Why
Internet Marketing?

It
was "back in 1993" when "the 'Net"
began to go mainstream and "www." started
becoming a part of most people's vocabulary. Now
it seems that "everyone" has a domain
name and a website . . . from Walmart to the local
antique shop. So, with such a vast variety and
number of 'players', a fair that question most people
would ask is "Why would anyone in their right
mind want to get into "Internet Marketing"?
There
are several reasons why you would want to "get
into the game" and the first one is the very
fact that there are so many players, or Credibility.
Suppose you're in a small grocery store and you
see a new gadget on display. You've never seen "one
of those" before and you think to yourself
"Why would anyone ever want to buy that?"
Then you go home and turn on the tv and . . . there
it is! A commercial for that very same gadget! Now
you're thinking, "Interesting gadget . . .
but why would I buy it?" Later that evening
you go shopping at the chain department store at
the mall and that very same gadget is a featured
item in the housewares section! What are you thinking
now? "Man, if a major department store is stocking
this, I'd better get one before everyone else finds
out and the price goes up!"
What
you have just experienced is "the legitimization
of a product." What began as a fad item in
your mind has now become a potential necessary purchase
because of its mainstream exposure on tv and in
chain department stores. The very fact that it was
on tv and in the store caused you to change your
mind about the gadget. "If someone is paying
to advertise it on tv and a major chain is stocking
it, then it must be a
legitimate item worth having."
The
same thing is true about the Internet. Because there
are so many "major players" using it,
what started out as a novelty is now a necessity.
Once a recognized leader, institution or industry
embraces something, then that product or service
has an aura of "instant credibility."
If you're serious about your business, whether home-based
or "bricks-and-mortar" then Internet Marketing
is a must.
Another
reason for Internet Marketing is Affordability.
It wasn't very long ago that most people in business
thought that it was foolish to lease or rent anything.
"You should own the building and the equipment
your company uses" was the established way
of doing things. Then in the '80's and early '90's
the shift began toward leasing office space. Now
the shift is complete and you can lease just about
anything. Why would anyone in business want to lease
office space or equipment? The answer: low overhead!
"If you don't own it, you don't have to maintain
it!"
Imagine
that you wanted to start your own business the conventional
way. you would need to either build or lease office
space. Then you'd have to get equipment for the
business. And finallly, you'd have to hire
people to work at your business. This adds up to
thousands of dollars spent -- and you haven't even
opened the doors!
Now
imagine that you wanted to start your business online.
You would need to have a website, a domain name,
a host for your site, a computer to store the site
on -- and a product; yours or one that you're reselling.
Total cost? A couple hundred dollars minimum if
you do it yourself; a few thousand if you hire a
webmaster. And then there's advertising costs which
are still quite minimal. No overhead, no employees
-- and you didn't have to take out a second mortgage
to finance it!
Everybody
talks about "the bottom line" and let
me tell you from experience, there's no better "bottom
line" than Internet Marketing! Your business,
no matter what it is, is an investment - of money,
time and resources. And most sane business people
want the best return on investment (ROI) that they
can get. In the stock market the goal is to "buy
low and sell high"; you want to invest or divest
at the best possible price point for a particular
stock.
I
have been a part of two live demonstrations on how
effective Internet Marketing is for "the bottom
line." Ted Ciuba, a top online marketer from
Nashville, has hosted live, un-rehearsed challenges
at his Internet
Marketing Seminars. With audience participation
and a webmaster, Ted created a brand new website
and product on Thursday night, and by the next day
it had already made over one hundred dollars! By
the close of the 2004 World Internet Summit on Sunday
afternoon, Anthony Harris, the winner of the website
drawing, had made over $10,000! That's a pretty
awesome ROI -- and in just 72 hours! Here's the

Finally,
"Why Internet Marketing?" "Niche-ability".
It's a term I made up as I wrote this article. Since
1993 I've been involved in the ministry of WCLC
Christian radio, which features Southern Gospel
music and syndicated Christian programming. In ten
years' time I've watched Southern Gospel change
from a specific genre or style of music to a category
with several genres within it. Now "SG"
as we call it includes progressive, traditional,
country gospel, and blue grass. It's no longer just
quartet-style music.
The
same thing applies to Internet Marketing. It began
as a subject or niche in its own right. Now it includes
tens of niches, like product creation, search-engine
optimization, and web copywriting. And now, as "I.M."
is becoming mainstream, smart marketers are taking
its principles and are applying them to markets
or niches outside of Internet Marketing. As my friend,
master marketer and software creation genius John
Delavera says, "If I can master Internet Marketing,
I can master ANY niche."
This
is also the focus of my website, www.prosperityunleashed.com
. However, I take the idea of niching even further:"Create
Your OWN Brand of Success." It's not enough
to niche your site and product, you must also learn
to niche yourself; you must become the expert at
something . . . like: "The Premiere Info-Strategist"(TM).
Credibility,
affordability
and "niche-ability"
are all very good answers to the question, "Why
Internet Marketing?" But I'm not a guru, "nor
do I play one on tv." I'm just an ordinary
guy who's trying to master this thing called "Internet
Marketing" so that one day I can experience
what master marketer Terry Dean calls "the

"How
To Be Ten Times More Successful"
This

Jan 1, 2005, I went to a New Year's party, where
many friends started to talk about how the time
had flown by without them even realizing it.
They
mentioned about their New Year's resolutions, what
it might look like for them, such as:
1.
Concentrate more on Career
2. Make more money.
3. Lose weight.
4. Be Happy.
Plus
more....
Many of them came up to me and asked, "Henry,
what is your New Year's resolution?"
I
told them that I didn't have one because I'd done
so much in 2004.
And
if I had to look back...
I
developed 13 websites in 2004 alone. And one, my
latest project, 117ChristmasGifts.com, was a HUGE
SUCCESS, where it JUMPED to as high as 250 HIGH-TRAFFIC
HIGH-TRAFFIC site in Dec 19'04. (Based on alexa.com)
I've
also spent at least 13 - 14 hours a day accomplishing
my game plan, while lots of my friends spent their
VALUABLE time immobilized by their
situations, their relationships, their careers,
etc.
If
I have to say, what is my New Year's resolution?
I
would prefer to say...
"I
want to be TEN TIMES MORE SUCCESSFUL by the end
of December 2005, than I am at the beginning of
the year."
You may say... "Henry"
Are
you trying to brag about yourself?
Are you trying to tell me how good you are?
NO!!
Here is what I am trying to emphasize...
New
Year is just another year that is passing you by,
and most people think that they will start with
a new life as well as a new begining for happiness.
But
the truth is, it's just another day, another 24
hours that is passing you by every single day.
I
didn't realize that in 2004 (ONLY 12 MONTHS), I've
achieved so much success and earned 10 times what
I used to earn in 2003.
=> How can you do that, Henry?
In
one word, "FOCUS".
I've
spent my Thanksgiving Holiday working at home, spent
ONLY 1 hour to eat dinner in my friend's house on
Christmas Day, spent New Year's Eve working until
5 pm, and spent New Year's Day writing you this
article.
For
me and for every successful person, every single
moment is very IMPORTANT.
We
don't care about NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS.
We don't care about Summer vacations.
We don't care about a Spring break.
And
so on...
All
we CARE about is how we MAKE things happen. How
we successfully see results in our life.
We
don't DARE to waste even a single moment for other
unnecessary things, such as: hanging out, having
fun, vacations etc., as we know TIME is the MOST
precious asset that we have left.
Today, 2005 is here...
"However,
are you really sure that your New Year resolution
will not be JUST AN OVERLOADED IDEA in your brain?"
OR
"Is
it REALLY something that you will definitely go
ahead and do?"
My friends...
I
am telling you this because I am tired of listening
to many friends of mine, who tell me the same things
about their New Year's resolutions every single
time we have a New Year's party.
So,
if you want to be truly successful in 2005...
I
URGE you to take your time to think about the master
plan, NOT JUST AN OVERLOADED IDEA in your head.
GET 10 Pieces of Blank Paper, and...
Write
down the exact things that you want to do in
2005, such as:
1.
How you can save 30 hours of your time each week
to
work on your business?
2.
How you can make more money with your Internet
business in 2005?
3.
How many pounds you want to lose, and by when?
4.
How and what you should do to make yourself happier
in 2005?
Once
you have a concrete plan on 10 pieces of paper,
then GO AHEAD and DO IT!!
Please...
"Don't just speak it, but CARRY IT THROUGH
to the end!!"
Because without realizing it, 2005, will be just
another year that you will be WASTING again.
Before
I close this article, I want to remind you ONE MORE
TIME that....
"Successful people ONLY know how to make things
happen, and do so until the end, without looking
back and regretting what they have NOT DONE in the
past."
And if you truly do what you wrote down on those
pieces of paper, you will see that you won't come
up to me or your friends at the end of 2005, saying
what your New Year's resolutions will be in 2006.
Instead,
you will tell you friends, what I've told my friends
and you in 2005...
"I want to be TEN TIMES MORE SUCCESSFUL by
the end of December 2006, than I am at the beginning
of the year."
And if you do this right now, you won't be immobilized
again in 2005. I can assure you that you will be
as happy as I am.

"Happy New Year 2005, and I wish you and your
family a Happy, Healthy, and Wealthy year."
