Basic Instructions For Someone Who Wants To Make Money On The 'Net

by John Delavera

So, you want to earn some extra income online. Perhaps, you have rent you need to pay, or you'd like to get a n.ew c.ar. Or you are more serious about it and want to make a living on the Net.

Whatever your motive is, the road to success includes the same basic steps for all: both Gurus and amateurs.
Ready to begin? Okay...

1. First, you must discover what people want to buy. This is the trickiest and most difficult step.  Most of the people fail because they deal with what THEY like and NOT with what people want to buy.

Jim Edwards explains how to find out what people want to buy in his ebook: Ebook Secrets Exposed at http://url4profit.com/to.cgi?id=admin&pid=47

2. The easiest way to make your first sale is to create YOUR product OR to promote a product that already sells. The difficult part is doing this.

If you decide to create your product, you have to combine what people want to buy and what YOU can write better than what is already out there.  Perhaps you found that people want to buy mp3s online; so why don't you write "The Ultimate Directory of mp3s On The Internet."

Or you have a pet store and find that people want to know how to overcome some common pet diseases.  He.re is your product: "The Most Common Pet Diseases And What You Can Do To Help Your Pets."

If you decide to promote a product that already sells, you have to offer something more to your website visitors. Suppose, you want to promote Stephen Pierce's ebook, "The Whole Truth About Inte.rnet Mark.eting" - since everybody is talking about it right now on the Net.
http://url4profit.com/to.cgi?id=admin&pid=52

Why would your visitors buy it from you and not directly from Stephen's site?  You must give a motive to your visitors: "Get the ebook using my affiliate link and also get THIS fr 'ee of charge."  Replace THIS by your offer.

So, by now you either have your product or have decided to promote one as an affiliate. Since I suggest informational products as the easiest way to create a product, again, Jim's ebook is a must have ebook for you: http://url4profit.com/to.cgi?id=admin&pid=47

3. Next, you must get your own domain name. Here is a cheap domain name registrar:
http://www.secureserver.net/default.asp?prog_id=theinternetco powered by GoDaddy.com

4. You must choose a reliable web hosting service. Do not choose the chea.pest one. This is critical for your success. If you decide to *play* this game and win, play it right from the beginning. Imagine that you have created your product, you have created your mailing list, and one day, a hacker makes your server a mess. Your database is gone with no back-up kept. This is not just my imagination. These things happen everyday all over the world. So, choose a GOOD web hosting service. I would suggest to you these 2 services:

Host4Profit.com-which is a part of the 'Warriors' package at
http://url4profit.com/to.cgi?id=admin&pid=106

Third Shpere (Highly recommended) at http://url4profit.com/to.cgi?id=admin&pid=107

. Create a good-looking site. Content is king, but a good picture says everything. You can use various tools in order to create your own ebook covers or your header and footer graphics, like Armand Morin's tools:

Ebook Cover Generator at http://url4profit.com/to.cgi?id=admin&pid=62

and Header Generator http://url4profit.com/to.cgi?id=admin&pid=66

6
. Now the difficult part: Writing your sa.les copy.

You'll need a writer and/or an editor for either your ebook or for your sa.les copy. If you think you're enough of a genius, you can do it by yourself, but believe me: it's more difficult than you think.

You can find a writer and/or an editor at Elance.com
- use this link: http://url4profit.com/to.cgi?id=admin&pid=116

You can post a project on Elance.com and hire the chea.pest fr.eelancer you think will do the best job for you.
Are you ready to sell?

NO.
You're just in the very beginning of the whole process. The.re are some dozen of matters you still have to take care of, such as:

- Using a script to get your visitors' email addresses.
- Using autoresponders to follow up with your visitors.
- Being able to accept cre.dit  ca.rds. - Using autoresponders to follow up with your customers for
back-end products.
- and more…

How your site looks is just the top of the iceberg. If you want to make a living on the Net, you must create a mechanism and a strategy.
Both the mechanism and the strategy are invisible to your visitors; but both are your armories.

The Mechanism
---------------------------
The mechanism deals with the scripts and the software you must use in order to make your site profitable. What you must understand from the very beginning is this: Automation is Everything.
Do not expect to make money if you deliver your orders manually. Do not expect to make money if you do not know who your visitors and your customers are. Do not expect to make money if you do not keep in touch with both your visitors and your customers.

You will need automation tools that will allow you to

- Create your mailing list and follow up with your visitors.
- Create your members' list and follow up with your customers.
- Accept credit cards for your orders.
- Deliver your digital products, and at the same time, keep your digital products safe.
- Create an affiliate program and deliver the help your affiliates need.
- Create a traffic virus for your website.
Here is a list of the scripts you need for all of the above tasks.

For creating your mailing lists:

You can use an autoresponder script like 'Autoresponse Plus' at http://url4profit.com/to.cgi?id=admin&pid=44

or a remote service like Aweber at http://url4profit.com/to.cgi?id=admin&pid=92

or GetResponse.com at http://url4profit.com/to.cgi?id=admin&pid=93
For accepting credit cards:

Amateur users can use ClickBank http://url4profit.com/to.cgi?id=admin&pid=43
or Paypal at http://url4profit.com/to.cgi?id=admin&pid=114

For delivering your products and keeping them safe, you need a membership script so only authorized users can download your products.

Amateur users can use LockedAreaLight (free script) at  http://www.locked-area.com/html

Experienced users can get the 'amember' script at http://www.cgi-central.net

For creating an affiliate program:

Amateur users can use ClickBank
http://url4profit.com/to.cgi?id=admin&pid=43

Experienced users can get the affiliates script offered by Groundbreak.com
http://url4profit.com/to.cgi?id=admin&pid=80

or for a remote-hosted solution, the AssocTRACK at
http://url4profit.com/to.cgi?id=admin&pid=76

For creating a traffic virus for your web site, you could use
- Forums
- Chat rooms
- Discussion mailing lists
- Polls and Surveys
- Referral Systems
TurboReferer is a script I created and it is the best referral rewarding system for your affiliates. You can find it at: http://url4profit.com/to.cgi?id=admin&pid=104

This is not for amateur users, so keep it in mind when finishing the course for the Advanced students.

You can also visit the following sites that offer many script you can use for free.
HotScripts.com at http://www.hotscripts.com and Cgi-Resources.com at  http://www.cgi-resources.com

The Strategy
---------------------
The strategy deals with everything you need to promote your website. Getting traffic is your ultimate aim and getting targeted traffic is your most valuable aim.

In order to attract targeted traffic to your Website, you need

- A good mailing list. The only way to create a successful mailing list of subscribers is to run a Newsletter or Ezine.

- A good search engine position. The best resource to learn more about this subject is Stephen Pierce's "The Whole Truth About Internet Marketing" ebook, which created the "smart pages" trend. You can find it here:   http://url4profit.com/to.cgi?id=admin&pid=52

- Selected ezine advertising.
- Joint ventures.

You can also attract unfocused traffic to your website with:

- Banners (this strategy is almost dead in our days)
- Free-for-all links systems (also dead, but good just for the links provided through the webpages.)
- On Exit and On Entry Exchanges
- Traffic on demand systems (you know, those ads that say
"5000 visitors for $10.00)
- URL Rotators
- etc...

The purpose of this article was to give you some basic steps for creating your money-making website. Making money on the Net is not that easy. I know there are ways you can use to earn some 100s of dollars in a day or two. This is a different matter. Creating a living online requires hard work, consistency, and knowledge. I hope I helped you by showing you what you need to begin building your online business.
